Tertiary, primary and secondary Institutions teachers are grumbling and chastising the federal government for giving more priority to religion than education in the country.
But, one thing every student must note is that the federal government cannot risk the lives of students by reopening schools for them amid covid-19 pandemic.
Honesty, one of the affected people by the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic are the students and teachers, both in primary, secondary and nursery level.
In recent weeks, news of school resumption has been trending around Nigeria. WAEC and NECO candidates were supposed to have finished their examinations if not for the rampant spread of the pandemic.
Recently, the Federal Government has announced that all final year students, which includes Basic Six (6) students, Junior Secondary School 3 (JSS 3) students and Senior Secondary School 3 (SS 3) students, approved to resume back to school in preparation for their respective exams and ahead of the National resumption date.
This was made mentioned by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in the country, through the Chairman, Boss Mustapha.
looking at this, here are points for teachers to take note of, ahead of school resumption
1. No fixed date for school resumption has been announced and confirmed by the Federal Government.
2. If schools resume, every student will have to wear nose masks while in classes, if not he or she won't be allowed into the classes.
3. NECO and WAEC candidates are advised to read their books, because examinations would be conducted at any time.
4. Do not let any student into the classroom, if he or she fails to sanitize his or her hands.
