Governor Rotimi Akerodolu of Ondo state has reduced the school fees of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko after several pleading by the students of the University. The Governor later directed the management of the University to consider the reduction but in a way that the institution will still give a quality education.

This was revealed in a circular by the Acting Registrar & Secretary to Council of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba (AAUA), Opeoluwa AKINFEMIWA.

It will be quite surprising that in 2018 Governor Rotimi Akerodolu had increased the tuition fees of the institution from N26, 000 to N150, 000 and N200, 000 per session. Back then, Governor Rotimi Akerodolu said that said that it is not fair enough because some of the other Universities in Ondo state are pay the sum of N150,000 and the students of Adekunle Ajasin University are paying N30,000.

If we should count, Ondo state has three universities, Governor Rotimi Akerodolu also said then that even though he increased the tuition fees of AAUA, he said the students are still paying less.

The increased in the tuition fees of AAUA caused a lot of things then, the school even have to close for some months, the students protested, but they all later accepted their fate, some even had to withdraw from the institution, it is quite sad.

Students of the institution has started reacting on social media and call the step taken by the governor has politics, if we should note, the election of Ondo state is near.

Below is the new school fees schedule of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko for returning students of the institution.

For faculty of Science N150,000.00 is the old fees while N120,000.00 is the current, Social & Management Sciences was reduced from N150,000.00 to N120,000.00, Agriculture from    N150,000.00 to N100,000.00, Arts from N100,000.00 to N80,000.00 while Education is from N100,000.00 to N80,000.00 and finally Law N150,000.00 was never decreased.
